Your Skin Types

There are five basic skin types: normal, oily, dry, combination, and sensitive . Here are some characteristics of each type:

  • Normal skin: This skin type is well-balanced and has a healthy glow. It’s not too oily or too dry and doesn’t have many blemishes .

  • Oily skin: This skin type produces excess oil, which can lead to clogged pores and acne. Oily skin is characterized by a shiny appearance, especially in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) .

  • Dry skin: This skin type lacks oil and can feel tight or itchy. Dry skin is characterized by a dull appearance and may have flaky patches .

  • Combination skin: This skin type is a mix of oily and dry. It’s characterized by an oily T-zone and dry cheeks .

  • Sensitive skin: This skin type is easily irritated and may react to certain products or ingredients. Sensitive skin is characterized by redness, itching, or burning .

To determine your skin type, you can perform a simple test at home. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat it dry. Wait for an hour and then examine your face in the mirror. If your face feels tight or itchy, you may have dry skin. If your face looks shiny all over, you may have oily skin. If your T-zone looks shiny but the rest of your face looks dry, you may have combination skin. If your face looks red or feels irritated, you may have sensitive skin . I hope this helps!
